What this site is
VerdictWiki is a neutral reference on major legal cases: mass torts, class actions and consumer redress schemes worldwide. Each case page is labeled with its country (US, CA, KR, GB, …), and the record is compiled and attributed per matter: court records, regulatory actions, and verified public reporting. We are not a law firm, not a claims administrator, and we do not provide legal advice.
Sources
Primary sources, in order of preference:
- Court records — dockets via CourtListener / court websites (filings, orders, consolidation).
- JPML — multidistrict litigation centralization records.
- Regulators — U.S.: FDA (recalls, enforcement, FAERS), FTC, CPSC, NHTSA, DOJ; other markets: PIPC (South Korea), FCA (United Kingdom), and the relevant national authority.
- Public corporate records — filings, official statements.
- Plaintiff firm pages — used only for docket activity signals (they advertise active intake); never for legal conclusions.
Every page carries a Last verified date and a Sources section. When a fact cannot be tied to a source, we do not publish it.
How data is kept current
An automated pipeline monitors the sources above. Court-docket changes are reflected automatically (green zone). Facts about money — settlement amounts, case values — are a red zone: they require a human legal review against primary sources before publishing, and every figure is attributed (“per court records”, “claimants report”, “per firm announcement”), never stated as a guarantee.
Case counts are published with a history (how the number changed over time), not just a bare counter, so the number has context.
When we say “no”
If a settlement amount is not public, the page says “No settlement amount is public” and lists what we are watching. If no cases exist against a company, the company page says so and shows its regulatory history. Absence of evidence is reported as absence of evidence — not as a verdict either way.
Review
Pages are reviewed by our editorial board; individual legal and medical reviewers are being onboarded and will be credited on the pages they review. The review block on each page identifies the reviewer and their credentials.
Monetization disclosure
Case-review pages connect visitors with law firms working the matter. This relationship does not affect the editorial content: the record is published identically regardless of commercial status, and commercial status is disclosed on the qualifying pages.
