Yaz and Yasmin are oral contraceptives made by Bayer that combine ethinylestradiol, a synthetic estrogen, with drospirenone, a synthetic progestin that also acts as an antimineralocorticoid and antiandrogen. As recently as 2023, the ethinylestradiol–drospirenone combination remained among the most commonly prescribed medications in the United States.
